Wassmer WA28 Espadon

L’Espadon (or « Swordfish ») is a standard class single seat glider, derived from the earlier Squale, built by the Wassmer from 1974 to 1977. The Squale flew for the first time in 1967, with the goal of making a robust glider with good performance affordable by all flying clubs.

Unlike the Squale, the Espadon was built entirely out of composite materials. It was therefore the culmination of research made in this field since the late 1950s.
